Click “Notify Me” to be the first to know when the Bonnell 902 becomes available.

The Bonnell 902 is the flagship platform in the Bonnell lineup, built for riders who want uncompromising power, stability, and true full-size electric moto performance. This is not a converted lightweight platform. The 902 was engineered from the ground up to handle high speeds, aggressive terrain, and race-level abuse, right out of the crate.

With a forged aluminum chassis, extended wheelbase, and a premium suspension package configurable for Enduro or full Race use, the 902 is designed to stay planted at speed while giving the rider precise control over how power is delivered. Everything about this bike is focused on confidence, durability, and tunability, whether you are charging desert trails, pushing hard in race conditions, or building a serious competition setup.

Performance Overview

At the heart of the Bonnell 902 is a high-output EBMX powertrain pushing up to 87 horsepower (65 kW), making it one of the most powerful production electric dirt bikes ever announced. Top speed exceeds 90 mph, firmly placing the 902 into heavyweight electric moto territory while maintaining refined throttle control and predictable traction.

The electronics are designed to be rider-focused. Power can be tuned down for approachability or unleashed as skills progress, making the 902 equally capable as an extreme performance machine or a controlled, confidence-inspiring platform.

Technical Specifications

  • Peak Power: 87 hp (65 kW)
  • Top Speed: 90+ mph (145+ km/h)
  • Battery Options:
    • Core Battery: 5.6 kWh
    • Optional Race Battery: 6.7 kWh
    • Optional Sprint Battery: 4.7 kWh, approximately 15 lb (7 kg) weight savings
  • Weight: TBD
  • Wheelbase: Adjustable from 56.5 to 57.6 in (1435 to 1465 mm)
  • Frame: Forged aluminum chassis
  • Chain: 520
  • Brakes: Magura forged MX brake system

Suspension Configurations

The Bonnell 902 offers multiple suspension configurations depending on how and where you ride. Both setups are built around premium SIRRIS components, with a focus on high-speed stability, damping consistency, and control under heavy impacts.

Enduro Configuration

  • Front Fork: SIRRIS F43
  • Rear Shock: SIRRIS R46
  • Travel: 285 mm front and rear

Race Configuration

  • Front Fork: SIRRIS F48
  • Rear Shock: SIRRIS R50
  • Travel: 310 mm front, 320 mm rear

Both suspension options use symmetrical closed-cartridge designs with separate oil circuits for improved high- and low-speed damping control. Hard-anodized 7XXX-series aluminum construction and integrated hydraulic bump stops help maintain consistent performance during long, aggressive riding sessions.

Electronics and Rider Interface

The 902 uses Bonnell’s advanced electronics platform, built around deep tunability and real-time rider feedback. Adjustments can be made directly through the onboard controls or more extensively through the companion app.

  • Ride Modes: Five fully customizable modes plus reverse
  • Display: Three selectable layouts with integrated lap timer
  • Adjustable Systems: Regenerative braking, e-clutch, traction control, boost, wheelie control
  • Connectivity: Bonnell app for tuning, diagnostics, and ride data

Why the Bonnell 902 Stands Apart

What makes the Bonnell 902 special is that it does not rely on aftermarket fixes to reach its potential. The chassis, swingarm, suspension, powertrain, and electronics were designed together as a single system. The result is a bike that can be raced, ridden hard, and pushed to its limits without immediately needing thousands of dollars in upgrades.

Multiple battery options allow riders to prioritize range, peak output, or weight savings. Suspension options allow the same platform to be configured for trail riding, high-speed desert runs, or full motocross use. This level of flexibility is rare in electric motocross, and it is a major reason the 902 stands out.

Availability and Timeline

Bonnell is targeting production in the spring, with bikes expected to begin arriving in the U.S. in early summer. The 902 will follow shortly after the midweight models.

As soon as the Bonnell 902 is approved for sale, it will be listed through REV Rides. Click “Notify Me” to stay updated on pricing, availability, and ordering details.

Fitment and Intended Use

  • Experienced riders seeking maximum electric moto performance
  • High-speed trail, desert, and closed-course riding
  • Enduro and race-focused electric moto builds
